Nick Sternad warms up - throwing motion 2013, Sr. QB, Albany High
At 17, 6' 1", 190 and growing, Sternad is developing a strong arm, his motion is tightening, and his footwork is coming around.
In his third year playing football, he uses his natural agility and quickness, great at reading a defense and improvising in the open field... As he learns the technical aspects of Division II Quarterback play, it will be really fun to watch.
As this is only the third year he has played football, it is amazing how naturally he has picked up the position, looking all the part of a wild cat quarterback with serious ball skills. It must come from all the basketball Nick plays.
With the coaching at the next level, this athlete will shine. His on the field awareness, vision, leadership, knowledge and instincts for the game for a third year player... its quite amazing.

Nick Sternad, Quarterback prospect displays his versitility
Here, Nick Sternad, Quarterback for Albany high school, throws a nice
decisive ball here, hitting his receiver on a flag rout. Sternad passes
the ball exactly where it needs to be, where only his receiver can catch
it, just inside the flag.
In this clip, Sternad delivers a clean and accurate pass to his receiver, exactly where it should be, on the hands, allowing his receiver to turn up field for additional yardage.

Nick Sternad, QB, mobile and fast - Albany High School, Californai
Here are a few clip of Nicholas Sternad displaying his speed, agility and quickness. He reads the open field very well, and with great peripheral vision, seeing and quickly hitting cutback lanes.. seemingly playing at a different speed than the defense.
Here, Sternad displays his athleticism and vision, quickly taking advantage of the opportunity to run for twenty yards, cutting back, finding lanes, and beating the defender around the corner. The decision making is impressive, the instant he sees an opportunity, he strikes like a cobra... jumping all over it, as it were.
In this clip, the vision to see and hit the first lane here, was lightning quick, but paced for the next lane to open, reacting to open holes as he runs right into the heart of the defense barely being hit. Next level, he may like to do more sliding.. but as a High School Quarterback, Sternad has displayed great toughness finishing his runs.
Now this is fun.. watching Sternad display his skills as an Option Quarterback, pitching effectively after faking the run on the first play, and on the second, faking the pitch and taking it to the house for a touchdown.. in a must win game for the Albany Cougars.

First Team All-League Qarterback Nick Sternad accurate passing video
Quarterback Nick Sternad completes for a nice gain, hitting his receiver in stride and in the hands.. making it very easy to run for additional yards after the catch.
Sternad makes quick decisions, reads the defense well and quickly hits his open receivers in the hands so they have time to turn and run up field
Passes out in the flat need to get there quickly, as here, Sternad throws a nice catchable ball, quickly delivering a strike, allowing his receivers to make nice runs after the catch.
